The building includes offices, a conference hall, an educational complex, a medical clinic, a restaurant and amenities. The infrastructure of the building is about 30,000 square meters and is equipped with complete infrastructure for holding national and regional conferences. The building is also designed in a completely modern and international style, which can be claimed to be the most comprehensive and beautiful office building in the country.

Studies and data collection and preparation of physical program:

The definition of a project and the value that must be created after it is the first stage of recognizing and engineering the goal of that project. The office building of Shahrbabak Copper Complex, at the request of the owner, was a building with a combination of several different uses, which should make it possible to establish and centralize the management and staff of the complex in its heart; By providing the desired infrastructure and environment to increase the level of interaction and productivity of personnel. Also, the facade of the building, representing the plant at the national level, was another demand of the owner. In this regard, information about the performance and how to interact in face-to-face meetings and by completing the forms prepared for this purpose were collected and by studying the relevant standards and extracting criteria, the necessary per capita for each user and each space was determined and finally the project physical plan and Its infrastructure limits were determined.

Site Analysis:

Site architectural analysis is a process for evaluating a particular place in terms of its physical, mental and social characteristics with its development approach with an architectural solution that considers and strengthens both its internal and external context. Therefore, in order to develop and sustain a project with any kind of approach, its site must first be evaluated. Each site is unique and consists of many complex elements such as diversity topography, waterways, vegetation, habitats and climate patterns, artificial features, neighborhoods, and etc., which influence the architect-designer.

Appropriate analysis of the existing and effective elements in the site first helps to determine the location of buildings, orientation, shape and form and determine the type of construction materials, and then to select the type of structure, construction method, which affect the sustainability of project. The location of the project has been selected on the north side of the site of Sports Complex of Shahrbabak Copper Plant. The project site is rectangular with an area of about 30,000 square meters, which extends to the northeast in the southwestern direction. A wall is built around the main site, which affects access to the building and the location of its entrances and exits. It is also possible to see and use natural light from four geographical directions for the building.

Design:

The design of the project concept was done taking into account the defined values and requirements and based on the studies and analysis of the project site. Placement of different uses in the building, priority and order of locating different uses and affairs on different floors were included according to the request of users and the number of referrals as well as organizational relationships. Accordingly, the form of the building was designed as an elongated rectangle. The building as a whole was divided into the following three main areas of use:

  • Office spaces
  • Welfare, educational and therapeutic spaces (medical clinic, library and educational classes, restaurant)
  • Meeting hall and exhibition section

Locating Spaces:

The office section was located at the west end of the building to have the closest route and direct access to the main entrance of the project site. Also, with a rotation in the form of the building on its west side (office section) to the south, it was possible to make maximum use of the south light for this section. The conference hall was drawn on the east side of the building according to the form of the building and was designed with its independent entrance at the ends of the east side. Welfare, training and medical spaces were placed in the northern side of the conference hall and on different floors. The medical clinic was located on the ground floor with its independent entrance from the northern side due to the number of visits, and other public spaces on the upper floors and the restaurant on the last floor, which had a good terrace with a good view overlooking the outside and surrounding areas.

The Vertical & Horizontal Connections:

The connection between the different uses was also established through an intermediate lobby, and in addition to the elevator and stairs. Stairs and ramps were used to connect the floors with a view of the lobbies and the outside environment, which induces a sense of suspense and pleasant tranquility to users and clients.

Façade & View:

The design of the facade of the building was based on providing maximum visibility to the outside space and the view of the site and the possibility of using natural light for all spaces. Based on this, the facade of the building was selected transparently and made of all-round glass (curtain wall) and aluminum shades (shaders) and vegetation were used to control the light.

Vegetation & Greenness:

In this project, vegetation inside the building has been used for aesthetic and functional purposes. Controlling sunlight on the southern side of the building, circulation and air purification in the space of the lobbies and creating a pleasant and refreshing feeling are important and effective applications of using vegetation in the heart of the project.

Spatial Quality:

This project is also designed based on the main design principles of this company (creating a good feeling in space). Design of high ceilings, lobbies that, in addition to defining entrances as a communication joint, connect different uses with appropriate precursors. Use of natural light and play of shadows and light in public spaces using vegetation, creating a sense of liveliness by bringing greenery inside the project, creating a wide view by designing a clear and glass facade for the building, using ramps in vertical connections and creating a sense of mobility, all together create a pleasant feeling for users, visitors and viewers of the building from the outside.
