Reconstruction of the Sarchshmeh Copper Complex Concentration Unit
Employer: National Iranian Copper Industries Company
Implementation period: 24 months (2018)
The most basic process in mineral processes is the enrichment (concentration) of mineral material, i.e. raising the concentration of the desired element in the soil extracted from the mine to the point where the enriched material can be sold in raw form or sent as input feed to subsequent stages.
Design concept: Combining urban identity and aviation modernity
In the Sarshmeh Copper Complex, most of the factories and units are engaged in the process of converting soil into copper concentrate, with approximately 60% of the complex’s units being under the concentration business.
Since the Sarshmeh Copper Complex has been in operation for about 40 years, most of the equipment has either reached the end of its useful life or equipment with higher technologies has entered the market as a replacement; as a result, the need to change equipment and update technologies has become more felt than ever before. Meanwhile, some defects or the need for repairs were also observed in the processes, equipment, structures and sections, which had to be addressed seriously and quickly.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, and with the increasing need for repairs and removal of existing deficiencies in the equipment, the concentration of the complex has entrusted the responsibility of investigating, conducting technical and economic studies, preparing financial models, preparing basic and detailed engineering drawings and documents, drawing up descriptions of contractors’ services, preparing tender documents, measuring and estimating the implementation of projects to Anin Company as the most efficient consultant for the concentration of the Sarshmeh Copper Complex.
In this regard, after the operating units report problems in systems and equipment or discover defects by the Anin Group, the cases are fully identified and meetings are held to examine the problem and the method of solving them, with the Anin Group as the focal point. After holding the meetings and obtaining the employer’s opinion on solving the problem, a project is defined in this regard based on the various solutions that Anin has presented.
After that, Anin Group, in addition to preparing the preliminary materials for each of the projects, carried out the bidding and supervised the selected contractors until the end of the project, and the devices were handed over to the users after the deficiencies were resolved.
Some of the projects implemented so far by Anin Group for the reconstruction and expansion of the Sorshmeh Copper Complex Concentration Unit are as follows:
